Tank Comparison

Greasecar offers a number of tank sizes to meet your needs. Below we have the dimensions so you'll have the correct tank to fit your vehicle. All of our tanks are professionally TIG welded aluminum custom shells with heat exchanger and hose-in-hose fitting built in. All of our tanks feature Viton seals, fuel sender, flush-mount fuel cap, as well as positive and negative vents. We've pre-selected the appropriate tank for each kit on the order page, but this can offer assistance if you were looking at other options.

22" Round Tank

Measurements: 22" Diameter x 7" Height (55.88cm D x 17.78cm H)

Capacity: 11.5 Gallons (43.5L)

Our 22" tanks are suited for vehicles which come with donut sized spare tires. Most common applications for these tanks are early VW Rabbit, Golf, and Jetta diesels. Coolant ports are on the bottom and will extend past the opening for the spare tire (holes drilled in spare tire well). These tanks cannot be mounted on their side.

24" Round Tank

Measurements: 24" Diameter x 7" Height (60.96cm D x 17.78cm H)

Capacity: 13 Gallons (49L)

The 24" tanks are meant for use in the spare tire well for all vehicles with a full-size spare tire. The most common applications for these tanks are Mercedes sedans and later ('98+) VW models. Coolant ports are on the bottom and will extend past the opening for the spare tire (holes drilled in spare tire well). These tanks cannot be mounted on their side.

32" Rectangular Tank

Dimensions: 32" Length x 12" Height x 10" Width (81.28cm x 30.48cm x 25.40cm)

Capacity: 15 Gallons (56.78L)

Greasecar 32" tanks are designed to fit into wagons, vans, and sedans where spare tire wells are not available or space for a larger tank does not exist. The most common applications are Mercedes wagons, Suburban/Blazer SUVs, and MK3 VWs Passat/Jetta models. Our 32" tanks are available with either 3/8"OD or 1/2"OD Hose-in-hose tubing. When measuring for placement in your vehicle, be sure to add 3-5 inches to the 32" measurement for clearance of the coolant ports and hoses.

48" Tank (Smooth and Diamond plated)

Dimensions: 48" Length x 18" Height x 12" Width (121.92cm x 45.72cm x 30.48cm)

Capacity: 40 gallons (151.42L)

Greasecar's 48" tanks are designed for pickup truck applications, though they can be used in some SUVs and vans, depending on seating and setup. Most common applications for these are 1/2-Ton to 1 Ton pickup beds, as well as Suburbans/Excursions (without 3rd row seating). All 48" tanks come stock with 1/2" OD Hose-in-hose fittings. When measuring for placement in your vehicle, be sure to add 3-5 inches to the 48" measurement for clearance of the coolant ports and hoses.
