Here is Stew MacDonald with his 1981 Delta 88 "Royale". Randall Webber drove down to Harbor Springs Michigan and helped Stew complete the conversion. The weekend proved typical of Northern Michigan with a mix of rain, sun, sleet and snow. Stew completed this project for his final physics grade and even wrote the grant to have the car and project financed. The hoses were injsulated and loomed under the car to keep the heat in the system, after an intial trail run which proved that injection pumps cannot pump air, the air was finally bled out and a successful veggie drive was conducted Sunday morning. "Mac" MacDonald ( Stew's dad) and older brother Mike lent a hand in the install also. Overall it was pretty cool to have a 5.7 diesel up and running to take the veggie plunge. As far as anyone knows this is the first 81 "Royale" in Michigan to be converted.
