1/2 Keg for tank
I have a source for used 1/2 kegs (stainless steel). Anyone have any experiences converting one into a fuel tank?
I thought so too, but they are stainless. I am not sure you can use Aluminum to store food grade items.
I may use the money saved making my own kit to purchase a
mig welder to weld fittings into the stainless steel. For me this
is the ultimate justification for buying new tools.....
I think they are aluminum.... Beer cans store beer and they are aluminum... maybe not, but I alway thought they were.

aniser busch kegs are aluminum as is all others that i know this would be fine as long as you had a welder to work on it.
I thought I was going crazy, so I did a little more research. It turns out that kegs are made with both. I cut this blurb from the brewing newsgroup. Sorry for the tangent from WVO...

This thread has got my interest. So, I called the local Budweiser
distributer. He said most current in-use kegs are straight sided, and
stainless. Older kegs, that are rounded, are LIKELY to be Aluminum. Even
then, there's no guarantee. The current Bweiser kegs are 304, Austinetic
SS in the body, with 340 on the handle portion. Austinetic SS is
definitely not magnetic.

Any Idea how much vaccum pressure those babys can take, if they can take a bit I think those would be nice for a wvo sucker.
