Diesel Motorcycle
I posted a smart ass reply to someone who shall remain anon for the time being, but it got me to thinking after reading another post; why not a diesel motorcycle running on WVO?
Feel free to insult me and to offer support, all with the potiential of actually realizing this mad cap scheme. I've got a whole lot of tool and a lot more free time, so fire away

That's OK, I don't have to remain nameless, I freely admit that I'm clueless. Like I said at first, typically I consider it an accomplishment when I can put air in the tires...
Anyway, I just thought that it was hideously ironic and hilarious that your smart a$$ comment turned out to be relatively doable, and done at that. How cool.

Kawasaki makes one for the military, google under "diesel motorcycle"
can you buy that kawasaki? or is it military only?
I wonder if they heat the grease or if it is a warm weather bike. If they do heat it, I wonder how they handle dual tanks and how they heat the grease.
I am curious about small diesel engines, myself, with the potential of using them, with grease, in small boats and for a generator.
When discussing Hybrids a friend, who has been driving VW diesels for years commented that they should be using diesels in Hybrids!

Hey there - I wouldn't tease ya if I didn't like ya. Male Bonding over veggie oil. Yuck....
If you ever get your muscle car diesel going, look into propane injection for performance. (I've had dreams of a 67 Vette with a BMW V8 diesel on veggie oil with propane injection and a 6 speed manual [I need therapy, I know] - My friend is a drag racer with a hot rod diesel dually pick up with propane AND nitrous injection! He's really sick!!)

Here is the only link I found about the diesel Harley. If anyone else has a link, please post it.

I'm obsessed with diesels now - I have a 79 E200D hanging in my garage from a chain hoist and I am lovingly degreasing and cleaning it all up to install in a chassis for my "Jitney" project vehicle, and I just drove home my 96 E300 2 nights ago from Philadelphia/Trenton area - 410 miles home an only 3/4 tank of fuel!
Anyone know about posting pics on your profile here?? Didn't see how to do that.... Would love to make this site a sort of Homepage (anyone at greasecar.com listening????)

The only commercially available diesel motorcycle (as opposed to special order for the military etc) of recent years was the Royal Enfield. It was such a bag of cr@p that a bus pass seemed a more attractive transport proposition, although if one of the Japanese manufacturers turned their hand to it i'm sure we'd see some sophisticated & reliable kit pretty quickly.

An independant magazine ROAD test of the Audi A2 1.4 TDi recently returned in excess of 90 mpg in the UK. Remarkable for an off the shelf car, without the need to resort to hybrid jiggery pokery.

Here is a link I found for a few diesel motorbikes.

The Dnepr looks tempting for one of those odd retro-cool gotta have it items
And you will also see the diesel Fatboy from Albion PA on this page
The Royal Enfield you mention has been written up in CycleWorld mag as a good bike on the cheap, but that was the gasoline version. Other than that, it get's no press at all.
