Would the use of a glow plug heater cause the wvo to be more like d2 in performance? In other words would the loss of power on wvo be less when using a glow plug heater?
not sure about that. but it will heat up the veggie to thin it out. make sure you have a filter after the glow plug heater. my cars/trucks run really close to the same on diesel and veggie. if you have a noticeable loss of power on veggie i would check the filter, look for air leaks, or a vacuum in the tank. the only time i can tell the differents when running veggie (loss of power) is when my veggie is under 50 degrees, but when the engine warms up then it is close to the same.
I use to be ForrestGump.., ,My BLOG,
Brian on the glow plug heater, how is the glow plug wired? NAPA didn't have an autolite so I got champion. I didn't think it would matter. And how is the thermostat connected to the glow plug heater? Also, are hose clamps used for the securing of the fuel lines? I have it togather all except the wiring. Thanks again
I have built them using 24v glow glosw( Military Hummer AC Delco # 15G ) running on 12v . You only get 1/4 wattage of a 12v glow pug runnning on 12v but the surface heat is much less and doesn't cook the oil . This might require multiple glow plugs to get the heat you want but one was still enough for me ( for a heat "booster" ) .
