London Cab Greasers

A friend of my wife's in exercise class says that some London Cabs are run ning in WVO. When these cabbies are asked where is a good place to eat, they recommend one of their own sources of WVO.

saw a spot on TV recently,
was about fish & chips and their popularity in England.
A cabbie was running his fleet on biodiesel made from their waste oil and directing fares to "his" places.

The use of WVO has spread to locomotives as well. The Grand Canyon Railway converted a coal-fired steam engines to run on 100% recycled WVO from Xanerra's Grand Canyon restaurants. The train leaves Williams for the 78 mile trip to the South Rim. By using WVO, the company says it reduced the use of fossil fuel by 34.6% .

That sounds like a great idea. That must spend a lot of fuel just driving people around, plus if they could educate people on the use of WVO that would be wonderful. Two birds with one stone.

I do not know of any cabs in London which are running on WVO but it would be a good idea. The pollution in the city is terrible and making taxis run on WVO would help offset the capitals carbon use.
