The other day, I saw a bottle of "Kill em" for preventing bacteria in Marine diesel.. Has anyone considered or tried using this in Veg oil applications.... You only need a very small amout for diesel.

if it is biocide it is okay to use. i believe that somewhere under the resources section of this site they say something about it. according to them it is used to kkep the veggie from growing bacteria when stored for long periods. i do have a question for anyone out there. if you have oil that has gone a bit on the rancid side will the biocide clear up your problem and make the oil safe to use in your engine or will it still gum up the works?

I believe if your oil has gone rancid to kill the algae and bacteria you have to shock it with a larger amount of biocide than the bottle says.

if that is true then what happens to all the bacterial growth? the bacteria is still there only it is dead and i am wondering if that will pose a problem? or does filtering down to 10 microns take care of that?

I use KILLEM on all oil I retreive..... It's better to be clean of all kinds of contamination you can find.... On those dumpsters for oil, that's garbage of oil, you never know what is growing there....
