Super clean/filtered WVO in Brooklyn, any buyers?
I'm helping a cool restaurant in Bushwick filter their WVO. I'm putting the word out to see if there are any interested customers. Absolute filtered to 1 micron. They are thinking of $1.95 per gallon. What say you all?
You telling me! I grew up in the Village, to me there was a void on the other side of both rivers labeled "there be monsters here".
Anyway, with D2 in NYC going for close to $4/gal, they were thinking that $1.95 seemed reasonable for now. But maybe not.
Interesting situation. Unfiltered oIl in NYC is so plentiful and free, but no one has any space to filter. People don't mind paying for a service, but there are so few diesels. Or maybe there are so few diesels because no one has a source of filtered oil. Or maybe it's just that everyone rides the subway.
It will be an interesting venture to watch, but I would be surprised if it sells at that price. But go ahead and prove me wrong.
Hi Phil

Most greasers out there are looking to drive for (almost) free after they spend money and time on their conversion. And before they do their conversion, usually they find their own WVO source already and they have their own set up to filter the WVO. These guys will definitely not paying for $1.95 per gallon. May be there are a few of them who are tied of collecting and filtering the WVO, or they loss their WVO source, they will pay for that price.
Just my thought!!!

If they get it down to around $1.00 a gallon it would be worth it. But $2.00 a gallon for grease isn't worth it. Not to me at least.
Then again smarterfuels.com sells filtered grease for more than that. Maybe if your people ship like SF does.
Any of this oil available now?
I could use some before the holiday - philcolosi@hotmail.com
Yes. Will email you.
I got some of this oil for my Thanksgiving trip and it sure was a beautiful thing.
Super clean oil, friendly service and the pizza at Roberta's is worth the wait.
Definately a good thing - keep up the good work!
Just wanted to find out if you still have wvo . I commute into the city and am looking for a source.
Yep. Just filtered a huge batch for them yesterday.
Hey Cahse,
I have a buddy in Brooklyn for the week and he'd like to buy some of their oil. How should he get in touch?
Let me find out. Yesterday I hooked them with a buyer who came by with a huge F-series that had a giant tank on the bed. He may have bought up all they had for the moment.
They are tapped dry at the moment. Should be restocked in another week or two.
Thanks for checking. I guess the demand is greter than I had thought it would be - I'm glad to hear that.
I'm in town tomorrow (wed) and could pickup some oil if available please contact me jandakunz@gmail.com
They are still dry. Revamping the setup there this week and should have a nice batch in another week or so.
Send me an e-mail with the address and phone number where I can pick up, your price is high however I work in that area sometmes and could stop by for a fill up when passing by
TY
Please let me know how your filtering,& removing moisture.I live in Maine, but travel home to N.Y. & sometimes need clean wvo. Please send location info.Call Jim @ 207-491-3548,or write here.Thanks.
Best regards,Jim
Heh... as for price, they had no trouble getting that much when D2 was $2.50. I think it's cool that they have not raised it with D2 being $4+.
Filtered with my industrial filter housing/bag filters. Dewatered by heating drums and allowing to cool slowly while insulated, though oil goes right from fryer into drums while still super hot.
Right now they are still out as demand is high. Should have another 55-100 gallons done in the next week or so.
I could pick up oil thurs pm if there is any available. Please email at jandakunz@gmail.com. I want to be a regular customer.
Just filtered another 40 gallons for them. Let me know if you want some.
I am from NJ and looking to buy WVO. Could you please email me if you are still filtering? skatep2@gmail.com
Thanks.
I have a restaurant in bklyn and am very interested in being able to use my 'waste' oil in a car. This is all very new to me and don't know how to get started. WHat's the best way to begin...?
Any feedback/help would be greatly appreciated
thank you
Any oil still for sale? If so, please email me at mjemmons@gmail.com.

In desperate need for oil to get back to Maine from Brooklyn (unexpected emergency situation), willing to pay for your filtered wvo if you still have it. Call (207)351-7674 anytime or email.
Thank you,
Brett
I'm interested. I just moved from the Boston/Cape Cod where I was paying for filtered WVO for $1.50 to $2.00 a gallon. I feel the price is reasonable, but I would eventually like to filter my own.
It is true that it is a challenge in NYC to find enough space to filter enough WVO. Some of the guys I work with have been thinking about going in on an industrial/artists space in LIC or Brooklyn where my goal would be to filter my own and maybe start a co-op for sharing oil. Until we do that, I'm willing to pay for my veggie oil.
In any case, Chase, please email me at wmua2001@yahoo.com. I'm interested, because my supply that i brought down from Boston is getting low.
Mike
yes, please!

i'm in brooklyn today, even!
i'm new to this site, so i may miss postings--maybe also hit me up at spiralforward@gmail.com.

If you would be interrested in buying wvo from Brooklyn, send me an email at: veggiewheels@gmail.com
Thanks,
This is an old thread, but is anyone selling filtered oil in Brooklyn (or NYC) right now? I'd be interested in buying. Shoot me an email at howtocookawolf@riseup.net if you have some to sell.
Brooklyn isn't all that bad, at least in williamsburgh and those surrounding areas which are really nice. I just got a place there and looking for a brooklyn moving company to get me out of long island. Then going to start working on the volvo and converting it.
I am considering buying a 1985 Mercedes 300TD wagon and am looking for sources to buy filtered WVO that I can put directly into the car. I am based in NYC. I am interested in learning how to filter WVO, but the learning curve seems pretty steep. I keep hearing nightmare stories of oil spills and centrifuges exploding, and frankly am a bit intimidated by them.
I would be interested to learn of an easy "on the go" method of getting dirty WVO and putting into a tank in the car that would filter out the sediment and take care of any water, but to my knowledge there isn't such a system out there, is there?
misobrilliant@gmail.com
You are correct, there is not easy "on the go system" that will take care of all the water. On the other hand, an 83 Mercedes is a pretty tolerant vehicle, and you might get away with a simple filtering setup. You could make one, and I believe Greaecar sellls something like that, but it will still take a lot of your trunk. You may also find you don't often find oil available on the road.
i just picked up a jetta converted to run on wvo. does anyone have a sourse of clean wvo in the brooklyn/queens area?
I live In Marine Park have a 300D and am interested in getting filtered wvo. could u direct me?
