Brian used the radiator as a heat exchanger, what I am talking about is burning wvo as a heat source to heat water as heated water being the exchanger itself similar to a wood burning heater except fired by lit wvo as a heat source.

I'm building one this spring for a friend. It'll run on the same principle as a kerosene torpedo heater.

Any specific questions you need help with?

Thank you for asking. Yes, I would appreciate knowing how to do it--a rough drawing and in particular how to make the burner, I want to get my pool so warm I can swim in it when its 40 degrees out, Thanks.

Did you guys ever pursue this?  I'm interested in the same, wondering if Raypak's oil burning heater could be modified?  Or did you build a complete DIY unit??

I'm currently toying with an M67 Immersion Heater (from military surplus store)...but haven't tried it on wvo yet.

Get an old oil fired boiler and go to the Yahoo group altfuelfurnace.

phil is correct. but all i did at that time was use a stock gun and mix wvo with 10percent gas. last winter i built a woodchip burner. kind of like a pellet/corn stove. Im going to use it to heat the pool and hot tub this summer.
