24volt system question

I am thinking of purchasing an old military ambulance and turning it into my camper. Are there any problems associated with a 24 volt electrical system when I convert it to greasil.

You will either have to find 24 vo;t switching components, or step-down transformers in order to operate the 12 volt equipment. that's all

Wonder if you could install 2 - 12v batteries in series for the vehicle n just tap off one battery to power standard 12vdc stuff i.e. Grease Car kit???
