I just purchased a grease car kit and this weekend will install it in my 93 Cummins 12 valve truck. Thanks for the tips that you posted. Do you think that I will run into the same pitfall that you did on the valve problem?
You may want to check on the Greasel website. They have found some special needs on the newer Dodges and they tell a bit of what they found. I think they had problems getting it enough oil, maybe they used two holley blues? I don't remember but there is good info in the 'tech' area of the site.

Yes ... I had trouble with an electric Carter fuel pump delivering enough fuel. I replaced it with a Shurflo 2088 industrial series pump. You can get these from Northern Tool for about $50.00-$60.00. These are designed to operate weed sprayers, it works fine. We went over 300 miles today on VO without a hitch (no problems) as far as the pump goes. We did loose the top off one of those soloniod valves and ended up draining the diesel tank however. Oh, one other thing, you'll have to restrict the return on the VO so as to build up enough pressure for the injuctor pump to work properly. It needs around ten pounds min. Good Luck ... KG

From http://www.windsun.com/Water/shurflo_2088.htm
The Shurflo 2088 series pumps are considered the workhorse of the small diaphragm pumps. They are used in a variety of transfer and dispense-on-demand applications where flow up to 3.6 gallons per minute is required. Applications include RV's, remote homes and cabins, and marine. These pumps are not designed for continuous heavy duty use

You might have problems down the road.

I can't seem to get these schematics on line. They are on a Turbo-cad program. I would be happy to send them snail mail. Akghound@onewest.net Thanks Ken Gardner

Het Akghound.
What make and model is your inline fuel line heater? I need to purchase on to make sure my oil is hoet enough. Also I asked the cummins dealership and they told me that vmy 93 dodge came stock with a 190 degree thermostat. What part number was the thermostat?
I used the Vegi-Therm megga or Maxi or something... the big one anyway. I got it from Neoteric Biofuels Inc. http://www.biofuels.ca/ I placed it on a seperate switch so I can turn it on only when it is needed.
I don't know about the thermostat in your outfit but mine was 160*, it failed so I replaced it with a 185 and was told that is as hot as I could get. At any rate I believe it is wise to run as hot as possable. Good Luck. Kg

I replaced them with the 6 port motor driven valves to solve the problems. Another minor problem is the Cummins come with a 160* thermostat and I couldn't get the VO hot enough so I'm installing a 180* thermostat and a 12 volt inline heater. Living in Montana I figure I need all the heat I can get. Just what year of engine are you working on, is it 12 valve or 24 valve? I have a complete set of CAD drawen schematics, both electrical and mechanical of the system I'm using that I would be happy to share with you.

I would really be interested in checking out your plans - These fuel prices are killing me...
