I have a 84 6.2 turbo suburban that I have run on veg. oil for about 2 years with not much problem. Recently, when trying to start it, it will crank fine but not want to fire, I end up having to use ether. Once running, it idles ok, but when I put it into gear it bogs down and has little/slow response when trying to accelerate. Once up to highway speed it seems better. I took it into a local diesel shop and they said my diesel tank was full of crap-my fault for not rerouting return lines-but i still have the same problems running on the veg tank with diesel in it. I need help figuring out this problem. Is it possible for electric lift pump to run but no longer have sufficient psi? Any help would be great!!!!
Here is what I have checked so far:
1. Pulled hose off of electric fuel pump(no stock mech. pump) and fuel came out fine,or at least it seems to.
2. Even after driving for 30 min, hard to start again immediately after shut-down
The stock filter is before the lift pump, and I changed it two weeks ago. I am only using my veg. line right now because i got veg. oil in my stock diesel tank and clogged the in-tank filter sock. I have a spin on filter before the lift pump for the vegetable oil line, the filter should still be clean.
If they are easy to get to, try and test your glow plugs..either is not kind to glow plugs, also some diesel clean to clean the injectors might help.

Glow plugs all check out good. I have also replaced lift pump after doing a pressure check and the old pump was a bit low, but problem didn't improve with new lift pump. Also checked return lines for too much pressure. Checked input lines for air, didn't see any. I am almost to the point where it seems like the only think left is the injection pump and I will have to take it in to a mechanic to have it checked out. Thanks for the help so far!

Not too familiar with the suburbans, but do they have any pre filters between the tank and the injection pump? If so I would check those.
