Hello!
I am currently installing a greasekit into my '85 Mercedes 300D. So far, I have set up the entire coolant system, but when I checked for leaks, I realized that there was coolant leaking into the veg tank! So far, I have used screwdrivers to try to push the O ring further in (an attempt to tighten it) and I have even added a second O ring. I have also been experimenting with putting plumber's tape around the aluminum bolt that goes around the PEX line.
Nevertheless, there is still a constant dripping of coolant into the tank and I am not sure what to do.
Advice??
This is somewhat late but in case others are having same problem I must say following. Best way is to provide some support inside the PEX, a 3/4" piece of brass tubing 7/32" od works for me. You can get it at a hobby shop that has scale model supplies - a 12" piece for $1.50 is enough to make 16 repairs! You then can use a brass ferrule instead of an o-ring which allows a tighter connection which will not loosen up / leak as the PEX / o-ring compresses. Works for me.
Dick
P.S. I still consider this a temporary fix until the connection can be moved OUTSIDE the tank or on top. Will pressure test WTP.

Slide the pex some the spot its on now is probably deformed use only one o ring of proper size and teflon tape tighten snug. But not too tight or it deforms pex and leaks. Get it snug if it leaks still tighten in 1/4 or 1/8 of a turn till sealed.
