91 Jetta with Greasecar system
Runs totally fine on Diesel. Runs fine on grease for about 10 minutes.... then looses power, then stalls. After a purge, i run on diesel again, and switch back to grease and same thing. I just acquired this vehicle and its my first WVO system so still learning, but any tips on where to look first for the problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Try this first to see what's going on:
Replace the WVO filter, do a long purge like two minutes to make sure there is no air in the fuel line from WVO tank to your injection pump. Then run it at veggie mode and see if still stall.

sounds like AIR to me. clogged filter probably wouldn't run 10-15 minutes before you notice it, depending on how/where your return line is connected. I'm copying what I wrote on another thread about a similar situation. it was a Benz so not everything applies but....
Air in the line can be verified by temporarily placing a glass in-line fuel filter in a convenient place where you can see it, somewhere near the IP pump. You can pick up these glass filters for $10 at any auto parts store and you can take the metal mesh filter out and just use the housing so you can see the fuel. They look like this:
Look at the glass running on diesel. should be pure fuel. then when you switch to veg, have a look. I would bet it has air instead of fuel in it;might just be some bubbles, or could be straight air depending on how bad the problem is. Then when you get it running on diesel again, look at the glass; I bet it has fuel. This will verify you have an air leak in your veg system. once you determine that's the problem, you can put a handheld (Mityvac) vacuum pump right where you had the glass filter and a pincher or clamp on the fuel line right near the veg tank. Then make sure the switch is on VEG and suck with the vacuum pump and listen very carefully; you should be able to follow your ears to the leak.
good luck.
