Been awhile since I did a new install, Can anyone refresh my memory as to where the heater hose connections are made at firewall?
WHich one is in and out?

Start a cold engine and warm it up. The first heater hose that gets warm/hot will be the INLET to heater core.
The cooler one will be the OUTLET from heater core.

If you haven't figured it out by tomorrow, check the thread. I can take some pics of mine and post them for you.

I have a few pictures taken that might help you, but I'm retarded and can't get them to come up on here.
If you still need to know, leave your email address and i'll send them to you.
You want to tee into the supply coolant in the left hose that's behind the valve cover.
From there it would go to your greasecar filter and hose in hose then back to the tank and returning into the water pump right beside/near the oil filter housing.
The pictures make it easier to understand this. You can try searching the forum too. Justin had posted some pictures of ALH TDIs a few times. That might help you. Good luck!
