I found an equivalent for the Fleetguard FF5156 at Autozone in stock, which is the Deutsch FF760. This Deutsch filter comes with a stud seal gasket. The Fleetguard doesn't have one of these, so I'm assuming I shouldn't use this item. However... just to confuse things even more there is a little slip with the Deutsch filter that says "This gasket to be used with VW, Audi and Volvo diesel applications."

Hmmmm!
