SVO Filter flushing idea ?

A friend of mine was looking over my system which uses a Davco 234 fuel processor attached to the trunk mounted VO tank. He had an idea that sounded interesting. He observed that when I was purging, the VO was pushed backward through my Davco (check valve is removed) and probably flushing some of the crud back into the tank just to be filtered out again later. He was wondering if this could be redirected to a small "holding tank" using a "T" between the Davco and the tank and check valves that would allow everything to flow in the correct direction.
Has anyone ever tried this? Does it sound like it would be worth the effort?
