Hello,
I have a VW Golf '86 and was told by a mechanic who's dealt with grease before that I may need to replace my injector pump (or replace with a used one with new non-rubber seals in it) in order to prevent the stock rubber seals from eventually degrading when using grease. This would apparently cause a leak in the injector pump and a big headache if you are far from home.
He also said I should replace the stock fuel and return line from the diesel tank to the diesel filter, as those can degrade as well.
I thought maybe the stock fuel lines are OK with the greasecar system, because no grease would be in the diesel tank anyways.
So, will I need to rebuild an injector pump? And will I need to replace the stock fuel lines?
Thanks,
Bob
I believe this is only a problem with using bio, not with wvo.
I've run about 60 gallons of wvo thru my 92 jetta so far with no issues.
I did have to replace the throttle seal and pressure head o ring just PRIORto wvo conversion (its a 20 yr old pump with 200k miles on it)
but no issues to date on wvo.

IIRC it's down below the water pump, between the pump and the lower radiator hose.

So, will I need to rebuild an injector pump? And will I need to replace the stock fuel lines?
Are they leaking now???
If not, I would leave it alone until leaking.
If the car has been running with the new ultra-low sulfur diesel ULSD for a while already and there is no leak leave it alone.
My two cents.
