On my '97 Passat, I ran the coolant lines under the car between the exhaust heat shield and the car body...so the hose is pretty well protected (the system is not up and running yet, I'm just hoping, based on advice in this forum, that the hose won't melt).
Still, I'm nervous about all that semi-exposed hose springing a leak somewhere for whatever reason (rubbing on a part of the car, impact from rocks, or whatever).
So, I'd like to install 2, inline valves at the heater-hose "T", so if any of that hose going back to the rear of the car springs a leak, I can isolate the leak by closing the 2 inline valves. (Of course I'd switch to to diesel fuel at at that time as well.)
The problem is I'm having a heck of a time finding valves...this would be of course for the 3/4 i.d. hose.
Anybody got an idea on where I can find them?
Thanks...

I thought about doing the same thing when I installed my kit, but never actually went for it. I did look at valves made for PVC pipes. I think with a few extra pieces you could get them to fit a 3/4" hose. Question is whether they would hold up and not leak, though I guess replacing them might not be so bad if necessary. Post how it goes if you try it.

Any idea how to adapt the ends of the ball valves to be of the right type (barbed)?
Thanks...
