Here is my plan tell me what you think: Filter my settled wvo through a pillowcase into 5 gallon water coolers just to remove the (very minor) particles. Then position the water coolers so the nozzle flows through a 12 inch 5 micron bag filter directly into a 55 gallon drum. pump the oil out using a hand pump with a tube extending 7/8 of the way to the bottom of the barrel. Pump this into a second 55 gallon drum containing some kind of water block system (? any ideas???, i did a fry pan test on my oil and i got it to 240 degrees (F) and it didnt "spit" at all.do i still need to remove any possible water???) Then pump it out of this barrel into gas cans and store for use in my car. Please tell me what you think. Im a nube.
couple things I would say -
Where do you live? you will probably need heat for the oil to flow down through the bag filter into the drum, so be aware of that.
my hand pump didn't hold up to warm veggie - all the seals failed within a month or so. mounting an electric pump on the outlet of a drum is a common option. plus, that hand pumping gets real old real fast.
good ideas and pics:
Now mister, the day when my number comes in, I ain't never gonna ride in no used car again.
Where can I purchase a good electric pump? any recommendations?
Buy yourself a good bowl style centrifuge and save yourself alot of time and aggravation
